Jamie Bardin, Former President, Chairman & CEO, EZ PrintsJamie Bardin is an entrepreneurial generalist with expertise in all aspects of rapid-growth venture-backed technology companies. Most recently, he was Chairman, President & CEO of EZ Prints, a venture backed start-up that provides digital photography web applications and production fulfillment (produce, pack, ship) for customers such as Disney, Yahoo!, FedExKinko's, Target, AOL, Sony, deviantArt, Webshots, Printroom, and NASCAR. Honors included 50 Fastest Growing Companies in Georgia 2004, 2005, 2006 and the Inc. 500/5000 List for 2007. As Global Team Leader at Coca Cola, Jamie also had a broad and diverse role responsible for driving innovative technologies and ideas throughout the entire KO system globally including co-chair of the Always Cool Taskforce (green initiatives), managing the TEC intern-program, and named on 13 domestic and international patents. Dave Gould, Operating Partner, Technology Operators Partners (TOP)Dave is currently leveraging his experience in the technology industry by working with a new model growth fund. The fund is focused on early-stage companies poised for growth that will benefit from the partner's broad operational experience, extensive networks and proven success. TOP is designed to provide significant strategic and operational assistance for its portfolio companies. Prior to joining TOP, Gould held leadership roles with both start up and larger technology companies, offering a broad range of experience that touches every aspect of the business. A proven industry leader with a breadth of knowledge in launching and growing businesses in emerging markets, he possesses sound experience in predicting market developments, setting and adjusting strategy, and leading organizations amid changing market dynamics. Most recently, Gould was Chairman and CEO of Witness Systems. Under his leadership, Witness grew from under $10 million of revenue to nearly $250 million, becoming one of the hundred largest independent software companies. During his eight years with Witness, the company had a successful initial public offering, grew operating margins to roughly 20 percent, closed and successfully integrated a number of acquisitions, established a strong global presence, and built the leading position in the workforce optimization market. Gould left Witness in May 2007 when it was sold to Verint for approximately $1.1 billion. He joined Witness Systems from Boston-based InStream Corporation, where he was chairman and CEO of the early-stage Internet electronic commerce company targeting the healthcare market. Prior to his roles there, he served as president of DCA’s Remote Access Division (now Attachmate Corporation) and held management positions with Management Science America (MSA). Dave sits on the boards of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) and IBBS, and is a member of the Atlanta Technology Angels. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Emory University. James C. Davis, Principal, Buckskull PartnersJames is principal of Buckskull Partners, which he founded to provide investment and advisory services to early-stage, high-growth technology companies. His primary focus has been on helping management teams develop a more focused business strategy and an associated market position to succeed in their markets. Previously, Davis led the spin-off of TerraGo from a familiy-owned services business in 2005 and he served as president and CEO through spring 2008. TerraGo is a software company focused on the geospatial market providing unique publishing and collaboration capabilities for its 500-plus customers, which include the world’s largest users of geospatial data including major government agencies and commercial enterprises. During his tenure, the company increased its revenues tenfold, raised more than $6 million in equity funding, and built a team of some 60+ members. He also served as president and then chairman of Flamenco Networks, having participated in its founding in summer 2000 and serving as president until 2003. Flamenco was an early-stage company providing Web services management enterprise software and related services, and had several premier customers including British Telecom, AMEX, and National Student Clearinghouse It raised $14 million in equity funding and was acquired by Digital Evolution in 2004. Davis also was a senior executive with Harbinger Corporation, a leader in business-to-business electronic commerce with more than 1,200 employees in eight countries. He was a key executive with Harbinger through its many phases of growth, from 1984 when he joined as the 10th employee to 1999 when Harbinger recorded a 1998 revenue of $135 million and OI of $20.1 million. He was instrumental in the creation, strategic direction, and operation of both Harbinger EDI Services, the company’s first initiative into B2B e-commerce in 1989, and of Harbinger NET Services, the company’s Internet JV with BellSouth in 1995. He served as President of both independent ventures from their inception until they were acquired back into Harbinger Corporation, when he became president and COO, and a member of the Board, of the overall company. Davis participated in all areas of the company including its IPO in 1995. In addition, he personally directed all aspects of its M&A activity resulting in 12 acquisitions ranging from small tactical acquisitions in the United States and Europe to the $200 million acquisition of a complementary public EC company. Before Harbinger, Davis had several increasingly responsible managerial positions in sales, marketing, operations, and personnel with AT&T and with Mark Controls. He also provided strategic consulting services through Mars & Co., a Paris-based BCG spin-off. Davis was a Baker Scholar at Harvard Business School where he received an MBA with High Distinction. He also holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering with Highest Distinction from Mississippi State University where he received recognition as the Outstanding Senior Engineering Student at MSU and the Outstanding I.E. Student in the nation. He has been a member of numerous corporate (both public and private) and civic boards. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Technology Executives Roundtable and the Engineering Advisory Council for Mississippi State University. Sanjay Parekh, Former Founder, CEO Digital Envoy and Founder of Startup RiotSanjay Parekh is the founder and organizer of Startup Riot and Startup Dinner and also serves on the board of directors or advisers of a number of startups. Previously, he was a founder of Digital Envoy where he was the CEO and later the chief strategy officer. Parekh is the inventor of Digital Envoy's patented NetAcuity IP intelligence technology. Digital Envoy was acquired by Landmark Communications in June 2007. Prior to founding Digital Envoy, he was a founding employee of Arris Interactive, where he played a pivotal role in various markets throughout the United States, Asia, and Europe for product deployment. His efforts helped secure over $1 billion in client contracts at Arris Interactive. He has served as a technology and strategy consultant for numerous startups, corporations, and organizations and has served as an expert witness for the U.S. Department of Justice. In 2004, Parekh was named one of 10 Outstanding Young Atlantans by Outstanding Atlanta, one of the "Top 40 Under 40" Georgians by Georgia Trend magazine, and a 2004 American Marshall Memorial Fellow with the German Marshall Fund of the United States. In 2003, Sanjay was named to MIT's Technology Review TR100 list as one of the top 100 young innovators of 2003 and one of the "Top 50 Entrepreneurs" in Atlanta by Catalyst Magazine. Sanjay was also named a Technology Pioneer with the World Economic Forum in 2002 and 2003. Parekh is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Parekh has an electrical engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from Emory University's Goizueta Business School. Scott Geller, President and Chief Executive Officer, InvisticsAs president and chief executive officer, Scott Geller has responsibility for the company's strategy, organization and operations and serves as a member of the board of directors. Before joining Invistics in December 2003, he served as entrepreneur-in-residence at ATDC, Georgia Tech's nationally recognized high-tech business incubator. From 2000 to 2003, he co-founded and served as the first executive director and then board chair for TechBridge, a nonprofit organization that has helped hundreds of area nonprofits utilize technology to better serve the community. Prior to TechBridge, Geller was founder and CEO of 2order.com (formerly BT Squared), a provider of quotation management and product configuration software for large manufacturers that was acquired by Primus Knowledge Solutions (NASDAQ:PKSI) in January 2000. He also founded Business Systems Design, a manufacturing systems integration company that he sold in 1996. He started his career as a manager in the systems consulting practice of Ernst & Young. He has an MS degree in Computer Science from the University of California at San Diego and a BS degree in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Geller is also a graduate of the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2004 and serves on the board of directors of TechBridge, Jewish Family & Career Services, and Emory University's Board of Visitors. Pete Privateer, President & CEO, Reflex SecurityPete Privateer has more than 25 years of management experience in the technology industry, with the last 15 years spent in the information security area. He has a reputation as a technical "marketeer"and "evangelist"with a proven capability to create, plan, and execute a strategic vision. He was responsible for the vision and strategy that took two companies from start up to successful IPOs. Currently he is President & CEO of Reflex Security, a leader in comprehensive security for virtualized data centers. Previously he was vice president of Sales for the Internet Security Systems (ISS) division of IBM Global Technology Services which acquired ISS (NASDQ:ISSX) one of the largest independent information security companies. Prior to the acquisition, he held several positions at ISS including senior vice president of strategy & corporate development, senior vice president of marketing & product management, and senior vice president of services. Previous to ISS, Privateer was president and CEO of Pelican Security, Inc., an Internet security software company purchased by Microsoft. Prior to Pelican, he co-founded and held the position of senior vice president of operations for AXENT Technologies (NASDQ: AXNT). While in this position, he led the company’s profitable transformation from a VMS utility software company into one of the first publicly traded information security companies (AXENT was acquired by Symantec in 2000). Prior to AXENT, Privateer was one of the original founders of KnowledgeWare (NASDQ:KWI) where he was responsible for corporate strategy and vision. He was a key part of the team that took KnowledgeWare from start up to a $140 million, publicly traded company (KnowledgeWare was acquired by Sterling Software in 1994). Privateer holds a B.S. degree in physics from the University of Florida and undertook graduate studies in physics at Florida and business administration at the University of Toledo. Kelly Gay , Past Chairman, CEO and President, KnowledgeStorm, Inc.Kelly Gay,who joined KnowledgeStorm in February 2000, has 27 years of business and management experience in sales, sales operations, market strategy, business development, and financial operations. Under his leadership, KnowledgeStorm achieved significant and sustained revenue growth, earning the company prestigious rankings, including the Inc. 500, the Deloitte Technology Fast 500, and Software Magazine's Software 500. KnowledgeStorm was recently acquired by TechTarget, a public media company serving the technology industry. Prior to joining KnowledgeStorm, Gay led IBM into the entertainment, publishing, printing, advertising, broadcast, cable, and sports markets as vice president of IBM's North American Media and Entertainment division. Under her direction, the IBM business unit produced 18 percent year-to-year revenue growth over a five-year period, with overall annual revenue exceeding $1 billion in 1999. She serves on the board of directors of the Bank of Atlanta, the Technology Association of Georgia, and the Board of Directors Network. Gay was appointed by former Governor Barnes as the first chairman of the board of directors of the Georgia Department of Motor Vehicle Services, now known as the Department of Driver Services (DDS). She remains on the DDS board today, having been reappointed by Governor Sonny Purdue. She has served as a mentor in a number of programs, including mentoring CEOs for the Georgia Research Alliance/ Technology Association of Georgia Business Launch program, and mentoring promising female managers and executives for Pathbuilders. She is also a member of the Atlanta CEO High Tech Council. Gay was recently named to BtoB Media Business magazine’s 2007 list of Who’s Who in Business Publishing, as well as Catalyst magazine’s Top 25 Atlanta Entrepreneurs in 2007. Prior to this, Gay was chosen by Catalyst magazine as one of Atlanta's Top 50 Entrepreneurs in 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005. She was spotlighted in Atlanta Woman magazine as a leader to watch, and has been chosen by the Atlanta Business Chronicle's yearly Who's Who in Technology for four consecutive years. Sanjoy Mallik, Founder, Air2WebSanjoy Malik has more than 18 years of experience in the software industry. Before founding Air2Web, he started Synchrologic, Inc., a leading developer of Internet-based mobile computing software. As founder and President, he was responsible for raising venture capital, hiring a successful management team and establishing partnerships with key industry leaders. Prior to founding Synchrologic, Malik spent seven years at Sales Technologies (acquired by Dun & Bradstreet in 1989) in a variety of Senior Product and Engineering positions. Malik earned dual master's degrees in Computer Sciences and Engineering from the University of Florida, as well as a bachelor of science degree in Engineering from IIT Delhi. |
